Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Spencer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Spencer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gordon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gordon avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Spencer.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Spencer decides to stand back up.
Spencer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gordon but Gordon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gordon takes a kick to the side of the head.

Spencer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gordon is trying to defend but Spencer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gordon scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Spencer manages to mount him!

Spencer lands with some strikes.
Gordon is working to get back to half guard.

Spencer looking for a guillotine from mount but Gordon is having none of it.
The referee warns Gordon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Spencer stalks Gordon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gordon's face. Gordon staggers backwards, shaken.
Gordon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gordon wants it to stay on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spencer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gordon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Spencer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gordon defends it nicely.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Spencer is on top in guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gordon can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gordon keeping moving, preventing Spencer from controlling successfully.
Gordon throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Spencer scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Gordon throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Gordon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gordon thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Spencer leaves Gordon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gordon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Spencer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gordon as he avoids it easily.
Gordon is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Spencer moves into the clinch.
Spencer tries to land knees in the clinch but Gordon avoids the damage to the body.
Gordon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Spencer's efforts to push away.
Spencer looking to stall.

Gordon gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Spencer regains guard.
Spencer looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gordon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gordon postures up in Spencer's guard and throws a big left but Spencer blocks it.

Spencer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Spencer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Spencer tries to stand and escape but Gordon is controlling the position.
Gordon is concentrating on defense, preventing Spencer from advancing position.
Spencer is keen to just control but Gordon is a slippery customer.
Gordon misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Gordon is trying to maintain the position but Spencer is very close to passing his half guard.
Gordon tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Gordon tries to get to full guard but Spencer has control of the leg.

Spencer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gordon has managed to free his arm - good work.
Spencer prevents Gordon from standing back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Spencer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gordon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Spencer somewhat.

Well Spencer has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
