Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kamaru Thompson (ranked 5502 p4p, 24742 weight class) and Raymond Holt (ranked 593 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kamaru Thompson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raymond Holt!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holt shoots in for a takedown but Thompson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Thompson appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Holt takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Holt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Thompson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Thompson drives through and clinches with Holt against the cage.

Thompson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Thompson tries to break the clinch but Holt is controlling the position.
Thompson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Holt kicks Thompson off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Holt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thompson as he jumps to the side.
Thompson tries to counter with a takedown but Holt is quick to defend against it.
Thompson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Holt tries to avoid it but Thompson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Holt to the ground. Holt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thompson is defended easily by Holt.
Thompson checks a low kick from Holt.
Thompson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Holt circles away.
Holt looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Thompson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Holt has taken the fight to the clinch.
Thompson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Holt's efforts to push away.
Thompson is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Holt goes for a takedown attempt but Thompson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Thompson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Thompson moves in looking to clinch but Holt pushes him off.
Holt bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Holt clinches with his opponent.
Holt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thompson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Holt defends well and Thompson ends up having to push Holt into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Holt pulls Thompson into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Holt is on top in guard.

Holt keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Thompson's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holt stands up from Thompson's guard - Holt perhaps looking for a knockout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thompson fails with a takedown attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Raymond Holt dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Thompson tries to clinch there but Holt circles away.
Thompson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Holt leaves Thompson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Holt with the counter takedown but Thompson avoids it easily.
Holt shoots in for a takedown but Thompson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Thompson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Thompson misses with a takedown
and Holt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Raymond Holt seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Holt shoots in for a takedown but Thompson shows good takedown defense.
Thompson tries to sprawl but Holt drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Thompson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Holt on the ground.

Holt is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Let's hope that Holt has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Holt is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Holt is looking for a kimura but Thompson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Holt to get the leverage.
Thompson is looking to control Holt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thompson avoid being mounted?

Thompson is trying to get back to full guard.

Holt with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Holt is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Thompson!
Holt has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Holt lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Holt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thompson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Thompson bucks up and tries to throw Holt off but instead Holt has got his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holt has managed to slip his arm under Thompson's chin. This could be all over... yep, Thompson is tapping out! Submission win for Holt.
