The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren connects with a crisp jab.
Askren slips under a jab.
Kelly lands with a shot to the body.
Kelly cracks a nice hook into Askren's ribs.
Askren misses with a body shot.
Kelly gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Askren counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kelly!
Kelly manages to work his way to half guard, despite Askren's best efforts.
Askren is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Askren looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Askren throws a strike but Kelly manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Askren tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
