PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Kluba (ranked 2141 p4p, 1550 weight class) and Toran Roth (ranked 297 p4p, 215 weight class). Kluba comes to the cage accompanied by Kiss The Girl. Roth has chosen Dogodine u Prizrenu as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastian Kluba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Toran Roth!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kluba misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Roth shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kluba napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on Kluba's face as Roth controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kluba prevents Roth from improving position.
Kluba tries to bench press Roth off him but Roth keeps the position.
Kluba gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kluba tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Roth has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Kluba's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kluba is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Roth is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kluba throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kluba fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roth manages to avoid it.

Kluba gets caught flat footed, as Roth shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

A close round but Toran Roth will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Roth shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kluba eats them both and turns towards Roth to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Roth avoids the body shot from Kluba.
Roth unleashes a big counter combination but Kluba bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Roth manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kluba on his heels. He'll look to pass Kluba's guard now, I'm sure.
Roth must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roth shoots in looking for a takedown but Kluba manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Roth's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kluba lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roth circles away quickly and effectively.

Roth throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Roth is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Roth wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Roth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
