And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jumes Cartin!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Cartin. Those never looked like landing.
Da Santiago shoots for a double leg takedown but Cartin sprawls well. He's pushed Da Santiago's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cartin is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Da Santiago with a body shot.
Cartin throws a half hearted mid kick.
Cartin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Da Santiago closes the distance and clinches.
Cartin misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Da Santiago.
Cartin misses with an elbow strike.
Da Santiago lands an elbow inside that Cartin shrugs off.
Cartin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Da Santiago has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cartin misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Da Santiago obliges.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Da Santiago wants to take the fight to the mat but Cartin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Cartin creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Da Santiago is working for takedown but Cartin is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alessio Da Santiago. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cartin blocks an elbow strike.
The referee calls for Cartin to work.

Da Santiago is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Cartin looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cartin wanted to stand there but Da Santiago had control of the position.

Da Santiago has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Cartin should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Da Santiago has tightened it up now! Cartin should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
