Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Irwin (ranked 2336 p4p, 2690 weight class) and Alessio Da Santiago (ranked 239 p4p, 364 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Irwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alessio Da Santiago! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Irwin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Irwin content to control rather than advance. Irwin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Da Santiago for as long as he can get away with. Da Santiago wants to get back to full guard but Irwin has passed into side control. Da Santiago is trying to improve his position. A lull in the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Irwin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Irwin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Irwin stands up and we're back to a striking position. Irwin shoots for a double leg takedown but Da Santiago sprawls well. He's pushed Irwin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Irwin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Da Santiago napping and manages to drive through into side control! Irwin takes a little break here. Da Santiago wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Da Santiago is trying to improve his position. Irwin moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Irwin scores with punches from side control. Irwin controls the position. Irwin continues to stall. Da Santiago manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Irwin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Da Santiago won't allow Irwin to pass to mount. Irwin is figuring out what he wants to do next. Da Santiago feints and as Irwin raises his hands in defense, Da Santiago changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Irwin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Da Santiago pushes down on Irwin's leg and manages to get into half guard. Irwin is pressing down on Da Santiago's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Irwin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Irwin is pulling down on Da Santiago's head. It's preventing any offense from Da Santiago, at least for the moment. Irwin continues to hold on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Alessio Da Santiago is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Irwin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Da Santiago did well to prevent Irwin getting side control. Irwin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Da Santiago is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Irwin pulls his head out easily. Da Santiago is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Alessio Da Santiago has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Irwin stands up and beckons Da Santiago to his feet.

Da Santiago wants to clinch up but Irwin keeps it at a distance. Irwin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Irwin shoots for a takedown but Da Santiago saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Da Santiago tries to clinch up. This could be trouble! No, Irwin has managed to free his arm - good work. Irwin is trying to get back to full guard. Irwin is holding on to half guard well. Irwin gets back to full guard.
Irwin managing to control the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Irwin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Irwin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Irwin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Christopher Irwin! A very excited looking Christopher Irwin rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
