Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jaycen Solo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ze Jiurgite! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jiurgite defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Solo. Jiurgite changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Solo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jiurgite sprawls well. Jiurgite wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Solo gets slowly back to his feet. Solo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jiurgite but Jiurgite pushes him off and we're back to square one. Solo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tran MMA Gym in the buildup to the fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaycen Solo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Solo has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've been informed that Jiurgite has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Solo wants the takedown. Jiurgite is fighting it off but Solo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jiurgite's guard against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jiurgite looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Solo is defending well. Jiurgite quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Solo has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jiurgite celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
