Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Strasburg (ranked 1169 p4p, 2073 weight class) and Lars Kraulthammer (ranked 168 p4p, 279 weight class). Strasburg comes into the arena with The Red - Chevelle blaring out of the sound system. Patrick Strasburg has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Strasburg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lars Kraulthammer! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strasburg misses with a jab, cross combination.
Strasburg has taken the fight to the clinch.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kraulthammer holds on and takes a little breather. Strasburg pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kraulthammer is keeping the position for now. Kraulthammer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kraulthammer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Strasburg works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kraulthammer wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strasburg blocks the strikes from Kraulthammer.
Kraulthammer is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Strasburg lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Strasburg throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Strasburg wants to pass to mount but Kraulthammer is defending the position. Strasburg is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Strasburg tries to pass to full mount but Kraulthammer defends it. Strasburg will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kraulthammer is looking for a sweep. Strasburg is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kraulthammer looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kraulthammer keeping hold of Strasburg's head, controlling as best he can. Kraulthammer is not content to let Strasburg control the position. Strasburg wants to pass to mount but Kraulthammer is defending the position. Kraulthammer is refusing to be controlled, as Strasburg sits in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Strasburg passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kraulthammer! Kraulthammer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Strasburg wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Kraulthammer throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Strasburg punching from mount but Kraulthammer doing a good job of avoiding damage. Kraulthammer avoids a series of strikes thrown by Strasburg.
Strasburg unloading with bombs! Strasburg tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kraulthammer is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Strasburg fails to move to back control. Strasburg can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kraulthammer is looking to escape. Strasburg working for a guillotine from mount but Kraulthammer is in no mood to give up. Strasburg throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Kraulthammer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Strasburg swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kraulthammer is now in Strasburg's guard. A big mistake from Strasburg there, giving up the dominant position! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kraulthammer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Strasburg has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kraulthammer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Strasburg wants to control but Kraulthammer passes easily into half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Strasburg dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Strasburg dodges the punch combination from Kraulthammer.
Strasburg tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kraulthammer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Strasburg rushes Kraulthammer and presses him up against the cage. Kraulthammer gets underhooks to prevent Strasburg's takedown attempt.

Strasburg decides to pull guard. Kraulthammer is posturing up here but Strasburg has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kraulthammer tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kraulthammer has to tap! Slick submission there by Strasburg!
