Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Wolf (ranked 114 p4p, 679 weight class) and Bruce Vanorden (ranked 21 p4p, 96 weight class). Vanorden is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Unstoppable . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bruce Vanorden was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Wolf! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bruce Vanorden! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vanorden pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Wolf throwing a counter right hand but Vanorden manages to avoid it. Vanorden misses with a hook
letting Wolf counter with a right hand. Nice cross by Vanorden.
It looks like Aaron Wolf has been cut. The fighters circling - Vanorden throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Wolf connects with a body shot that sends Vanorden's belly button to the back. Vanorden's corner calls for a 1-2. Vanorden obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Vanorden misses with a body punch
and Wolf counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Vanorden misses with an uppercut. Vanorden misses with a straight left. Vanorden lands a big shot that drops Wolf! Can he finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wolf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wolf not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Vanorden controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vanorden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wolf swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vanorden is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Vanorden wants to pass the guard but Wolf is keeping the position. Vanorden controls from within his opponent's guard. Wolf seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Wolf is trying to keep Vanorden in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vanorden slips nicely into half guard. Vanorden is controlling the pace.
Vanorden's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Wolf looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wolf trying to control from the bottom.
Wolf is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Vanorden stalling. Vanorden wants to pass the guard but Wolf is defending well. Wolf trying to control here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Wolf won't allow Vanorden to pass to mount. Vanorden is trying to control. Wolf wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Vanorden keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Let's hope that Vanorden has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Vanorden throws an off balance right hand
and Wolf counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wolf just misses with a punch to the body.
Wolf blocks a jab. Wolf thinks about countering with a body kick. Vanorden fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wolf, pushing him back against the cage. Vanorden throws a head punch that misses. Vanorden misses with a short punch on the inside. Vanorden takes a knee to the side of the body. Wolf blocks a body shot from Vanorden. Wolf is fighting off a takedown attempt but Vanorden is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wolf to the mat. Wolf regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Vanorden tries to free his leg and advance position but Wolf is retaining full guard. Vanorden got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wolf has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vanorden has managed to get both his arms back between Wolf's legs - danger averted. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vanorden is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Wolf has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vanorden is looking to defend but Wolf has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vanorden! Wolf pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vanorden taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Aaron Wolf! Aaron Wolf retains his light heavyweight title! Our winner, Aaron Wolf, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
