Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jore Maki (ranked 1607 p4p, 3647 weight class) and Chozen Gracie (ranked 60 p4p, 85 weight class). Maki comes into the arena with Tyron Woodley blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jore Maki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chozen Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maki throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A jab from Gracie misses.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Maki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gracie has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie.
Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jore Maki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chozen Gracie.
Gracie walks into a straight right hand from Maki.

It looks like Chozen Gracie has been cut.
Gracie bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Maki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gracie throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Chozen Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Maki fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Maki has a couple of punches blocked by Gracie.
Maki works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Maki misses with a body punch.

Gracie decides to pull guard.
Maki controlling from the top position.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maki defends it easily.
Maki wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gracie lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Maki wants to improve his position but instead Gracie has moved into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Maki's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Maki is looking to control Gracie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Maki avoid being mounted?
Maki trying to get back to full guard but Gracie takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Maki tries to reverse the position but Gracie maintains control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Maki is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Maki turns into Gracie and is now in his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gracie is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Maki rolls with it to try and escape but Gracie cranks on the arm and Maki is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
