Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Leahy (ranked 3443 p4p, 1993 weight class) and Tim Blood (ranked 457 p4p, 283 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Leahy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Blood!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leahy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Leahy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Blood has escaped the position, nice work there.
Blood wants to control but Leahy postures up.
Leahy tries to move to mount but Blood blocks the move with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blood is looking to regain half guard here but Leahy keeps moving and retains side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Blood bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Leahy's guard.


Leahy throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Blood escapes and throws Leahy's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Leahy wants to get back to full guard but Blood has mounted him!
Leahy is squirming around, avoiding Blood's attempts to control the action.
Blood unloads with some shots from mount but Leahy bucks and avoids them well.

Blood has control of Leahy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Leahy regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Leahy tries to hold on but Blood pushes him away.

Blood is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Leahy is just riding it out for now. Blood eventually gives up the hold.

Blood is keen to just control but Leahy is a slippery customer.

Blood is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Leahy sees it coming and defends easily.

Blood is looking to work some ground and pound but Leahy has wrist control.

Leahy working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Blood has passed into half guard!

Blood seems to be looking for submissions.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Leahy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blood is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Leahy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Leahy's back!

Leahy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Blood has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Leahy has managed to get both his arms back between Blood's legs - danger averted.

Blood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Leahy keeps working.

Leahy is not content to let Blood control the position.
Leahy is looking to reverse the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Blood wants to control but Leahy is keeping him busy.

Tim Blood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Leahy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blood looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Leahy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Leahy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Leahy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blood swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tim Blood comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Blood has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
