Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harold Kerzner (ranked 3286 p4p, 3194 weight class) and Donny Jay (ranked 420 p4p, 402 weight class). Donny Jay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harold Kerzner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Donny Jay!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerzner lands a jab.
Jay misses with a straight left.
Jay thuds a left hand into Kerzner's body.
Jay misses with a body shot.
Jay drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jay has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Kerzner checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Jay darts in and clinches Kerzner up against the cage.

Jay drags the fight down to the ground.
Kerzner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kerzner wants to control from the top but Jay keeps moving.
Kerzner works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Kerzner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jay is just riding it out for now. Kerzner eventually gives up the hold.
Jay holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Kerzner wants to pass the guard but Jay is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jay missing with punches from the bottom.
Kerzner throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kerzner seems to be working for a kimura but Jay defends the submission attempt.
Kerzner is pressing down on Jay's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jay is holding on for now.
Jay is trying to stand up here but Kerzner is controlling him well.
Kerzner wants to advance to full mount but Jay doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kerzner is working hard here to advance position.
Kerzner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jay works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kerzner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jay swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jay working for a triangle but Kerzner defends it easily.

Kerzner trying to control the position from guard on top but Jay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Donny Jay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jay misses with a leg kick
and Kerzner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kerzner keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jay.
Kerzner feinted with a counter takedown.
Jay throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Kerzner seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Jay tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kerzner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jay lands with a nice body kick.
Jay on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jay misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jay fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jay tries to land a body kick
and Kerzner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jay.
Jay lands with a good body shot.
Kerzner ducks under a wild hook from Jay.
Jay misses with a body kick.
A counter left hand to the body from Kerzner misses its target.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kerzner lands a nice shot to the body.
Jay looks to score with a jab to the body but Kerzner is just out of range.
Jay looks to land a left hand but Kerzner moved out of range nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jay wants to clinch.
Kerzner swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Harold Kerzner will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jay jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jay moves away from the strike by Kerzner.
Jay misses with a hook.
Kerzner is looking to counter punch.
Jay blocks the body kick.
Donny Jay seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jay moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kerzner walks into a straight right hand from Jay.
Kerzner stuns Jay with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Kerzner digs a good body shot into Jay's ribs.
Jay throws a body punch but Kerzner moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jay tries to land a front kick but Kerzner steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jay looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Jay scores with a hook.
Kerzner takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Kerzner throws a good cross that connects.

Kerzner clinches up against the cage.
Jay jumps guard but Kerzner turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jay tries to stall but Kerzner uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Kerzner lands a hook to the side of the head.
Kerzner leaning against his opponent.
Jay tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kerzner lands a shoulder strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kerzner creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Jay tries to throw a body punch but Kerzner avoids it by throwing Jay back against the cage.
Jay's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Jay trying to control the position but instead, Kerzner has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jay into the cage.

Jay is breathing heavily.

Jay breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kerzner shoots in and bounces Jay off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kerzner passes into half guard.
Kerzner passes the guard and advances to mount!
Kerzner tries to control but Jay wriggling away.
Jay really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The referee warns Jay that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jay in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Kerzner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jay is looking to escape.
Jay is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kerzner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jay can do to turn this around?

Kerzner is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Kerzner!
