PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Riker (ranked 1087 p4p, 739 weight class) and Big Dog Gracie (ranked 152 p4p, 96 weight class). Gracie is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gang out. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Big Dog Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries for a takedown but Riker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Riker pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And Gracie tries to counter it with a takedown but Riker pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Riker tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Riker to the ground. Riker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Riker looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.

Gracie changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Gracie shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Riker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Riker looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gracie is defending well. Riker quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gracie has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Riker celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

After winning the bout, William Riker thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
