The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastiat rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Godoi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bastiat swings for the body but Godoi moves out of range.
Bastiat wants to clinch up but Godoi keeps it at a distance.
Bastiat lands with a shot to the body.
Godoi throws a big shot that misses.
Bastiat shoots in but no luck this time.
Bastiat tries for a takedown but Godoi circles away easily
and Godoi counters with a crisp right hand that drops Bastiat! Godoi lets Bastiat back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Bastiat is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Godoi moves in close and cracks Bastiat with a massive right hand! Bastiat, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Godoi!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Guilherme Godoi!
A relieved looking Guilherme Godoi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
