The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ricky Thompson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

And Thompson tries to counter it with a takedown but Vasiliev pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Thompson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vasiliev but Vasiliev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vasiliev looks to score with a jab to the body but Thompson is just out of range.
Vasiliev fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thompson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

It looks like Ricky Thompson has been cut.

After winning the bout, Timur Vasiliev thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
