Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lou Dickenson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Castle! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Dickenson is looking for a sweep. Castle is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Castle seems to be looking for submissions.
Dickenson is trying to get back to full guard. Dickenson is refusing to be controlled, as Castle sits in half guard. Dickenson is looking to control Castle's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dickenson avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dickenson is controlling Castle's trapped leg to prevent Castle from advancing to side control. Castle is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dickenson defends it well. Dickenson wants to control but Castle is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dickenson is refusing to be controlled, as Castle sits in half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Castle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dickenson but Dickenson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dickenson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dickenson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Castle swats him away and circles back towards the center. Castle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dickenson pinned against the cage. Dickenson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dickenson tries to clinch up but Castle circles away and keeps his distance. Lou Dickenson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dickenson has closed the distance and engaged Castle in a clinch.
Dickenson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Castle lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dickenson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dickenson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Dickenson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Castle swats him away and circles back towards the center. Castle shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Castle with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Dickenson tries to roll over but Castle keeps him under control. Dickenson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Castle is working away from the top position though. Dickenson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Castle pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castle is trying to control. Dickenson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Castle blocks the strikes from Dickenson.
Castle is thwarting Dickenson's attempts to control the position. Dickenson won't allow Castle to pass to mount.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dickenson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dickenson throws a head kick that misses. Dickenson tries a head kick but it misses.
Dickenson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Castle uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dickenson. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Dickenson - that will leave a mark!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dickenson tries to clinch there but Castle circles away.
Dickenson tries to close the distance and clinch but Castle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dickenson throws a head kick but Castle moves out of range.

Lou Dickenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castle shoots for a double leg takedown but Dickenson sprawls well. He's pushed Castle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Lou Dickenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Castle. Dickenson tries to close the distance and clinch but Castle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dickenson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dickenson is breathing heavily. The fight stays on the outside here - Dickenson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Dickenson tries to clinch but Castle is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Lou Dickenson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Castle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dickenson is fending him off so far but Castle persists. Nope, Dickenson circles away and we're back to standing. Dickenson is looking to clinch. Castle keeps the fight on the outside. Castle takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Dickenson tries to clinch but Castle moves out of range. Dickenson lands with an overhand left.
Castle is rocked! Dickenson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Castle is still on wobbly legs! Can Dickenson finish him? Lou Dickenson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Dickenson! Castle is out on his feet! Dickenson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Castle is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Castle is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
