Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Wayne Gracie (ranked 1704 p4p, 2619 weight class) and Pugilistic Dementia (ranked 223 p4p, 325 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gracie might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thriller by Michael Jackson. Dementia has chosen Hit Me With Your Best Shot - Pat Benatar as his entrance music. John Wayne Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Dementia misses.
Gracie changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Gracie lunges at Dementia with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dementia's hand.
Gracie gets the takedown into side control.
Dementia is not content to let Gracie control the position.
You can see the frustration on Dementia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dementia manages to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nice uppercut lands for Gracie. That snapped Dementia's head back.

Gracie throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dementia on the side of the head.
Pugilistic Dementia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dementia lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Dementia takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Dementia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dementia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dementia is looking for a triangle here but Gracie uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dementia keeps working.

Dementia lands a nice hook to Gracie's body. Gracie takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Dementia moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
