Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Francis Lamas (ranked 4728 p4p, 5714 weight class) and Rodriguo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francis Lamas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodriguo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamas throws a nice inside leg kick.
Francis Lamas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Silva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lamas.
Some wild striking there from Silva.
Lamas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lamas closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage.

Silva manages to break the clinch.

Lamas instigates a clinch.

Silva gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lamas regains guard.
Silva's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lamas keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Lamas is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

Silva lands a couple of elbows.

Lamas has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Silva is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
A left hand lands to the body for Lamas.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Lamas just misses with a elbow thrown towards Silva's brow.
Lamas misses with a knee to the head.
Lamas gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Silva blocks the elbow strike.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lamas circles away from the clinch attempt.

Silva gets a double leg takedown into Lamas's guard.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silva in particular looking to stall.
Silva moves into full mount! Lamas won't be happy about that!
Silva thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Silva is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lamas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Lamas is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Lamas is squirming around, avoiding Silva's attempts to control the action.
Silva misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Lamas is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Silva throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Silva looking to control but Lamas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The referee warns Lamas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Silva throwing strikes here but Lamas is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Lamas is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rodriguo Silva dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lamas can pounce on him.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Lamas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Silva takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Lamas pushes him off.
A left and a right from Silva both land. Nice combination.

Lamas is rocked!
Silva lands a big right hook! Lamas looks hurt but is still standing! Silva lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Lamas falls down and Silva dives in with a huge hammer fist! Lamas's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Silva runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rodriguo Silva!
Rodriguo Silva was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
