Shimada has chosen Seven Samurai as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kambei Shimada enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matrix will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Matrix dives in for a single leg takedown but Shimada sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Shimada lands a shoulder strike.
Shimada lands with a light punch inside.

Matrix's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Matrix has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Shimada scores with a hook to the body.
Shimada lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Matrix backwards.

Matrix is breathing heavily.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shimada creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Shimada throws a big uppercut that drops Matrix! More strikes from Shimada and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Matrix lies dazed against the cage as Shimada celebrates with his cornermen!

A determined Kambei Shimada didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
