Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Odd Job (ranked 777 p4p, 154 weight class) and Dick Winters (ranked 119 p4p, 24 weight class). Winters is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: All Along the Watchtower. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Odd Job! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dick Winters! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Job drives through with a takedown into Winters's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Winters keeping moving, preventing Job from controlling successfully. Winters is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Job throws an elbow that misses. Winters uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Job's guard. Nice move by Winters!

That's one minute gone in the round. Winters forces his way into half guard. Job is looking for a sweep. Winters is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Winters is thwarting Job's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Winters looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Job pushes Winters off looking to stand but Winters dives back in and keeps control.

Winters is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Job defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Job is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Winters pulls his head out easily. Job is staying active underneath Winters, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Winters throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Winters wants to free his trapped foot but Job is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Winters wants to take a breather but Job is having none of it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Job controlling the position well.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Winters closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Winters gets to mount! Job was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Job is bucking up trying to escape but Winters cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Winters cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Winters avoids the attempt from Job to control. Job is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Winters is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Job sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Winters is thwarting Job's attempts to control the position. Job is staying active underneath Winters, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Winters is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Job gets back to full guard.
Winters got a little sloppy there for a moment and Job has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Winters has managed to get both his arms back between Job's legs - danger averted. Winters stopping the sweep attempt from Job. Job throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Winters's corner is telling him to maintain position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Job holds on and takes a little breather. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dick Winters dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Winters engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Job looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Winters postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Winters trying to control but Job is working from the bottom. Job avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Job looking to control but Winters passes into half guard.
Winters has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Winters looks to land a strike but Job avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Job is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Winters defends well. Job wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Winters has taken Job's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Job has been forced to tap!
