Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charlie River (ranked 1227 p4p, 1693 weight class) and Napoleon Panda (ranked 67 p4p, 101 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think River might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Waylon Jennings - I've Always Been Crazy. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie River! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Napoleon Panda! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Panda fails in his attempt to clinch. River feinted there with a counter leg kick. Panda moves into the clinch. Panda tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. River just stands there and leans against the cage. River will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Panda up against the cage. River slows down the pace here.
River breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. River has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rivers Edge Gym in the buildup to the fight. Excellent takedown into side control there by Panda. River tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Panda working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. River defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Panda's arms.
That's one minute gone in the round. Panda looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. River is controlling Panda 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. River got a little sloppy there for a moment and Panda has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, River has managed to get both his arms back between Panda's legs - danger averted. River wanted to stand there but Panda had control of the position. River knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Panda on the ground. Panda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. River doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Panda is tightening it up a little... River has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! River reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! River taps out! Nice BJJ there by Panda!
