Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniko Montpoisante (ranked 4627 p4p, 2832 weight class) and Delightful Panda (ranked 392 p4p, 273 weight class). Daniko Montpoisante is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniko Montpoisante! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Delightful Panda! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Panda scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Panda looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montpoisante is trying to improve his position. Panda working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Montpoisante is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Panda is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Montpoisante has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Panda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Montpoisante, who protects the arm well. Panda is trying to get an arm triangle but Montpoisante is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Panda goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Montpoisante has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Panda but great work by Montpoisante. Montpoisante is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Panda will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Montpoisante is looking to take a break and control but Panda is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Panda seems a little lost for a moment, as Montpoisante dominates the positioning. Panda is trying to improve his position. Panda is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Montpoisante wants to lay and pray for a moment but Panda keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Montpoisante tries to advance to mount but can't. Panda tries to bench press Montpoisante off him but Montpoisante keeps the position. Montpoisante decides to stand up, so the ref orders Panda to his feet. Panda showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Montpoisante.
Panda fails in his attempt to clinch. Montpoisante throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Panda. Montpoisante cracks Panda with a good jab. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Panda. Sloppy strikes from Montpoisante. Those never looked like landing. Montpoisante looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Panda tries to close the distance and clinch but Montpoisante swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montpoisante cracks Panda with a right hand to the side of the head. Montpoisante fails to land with a series of punches.
Montpoisante stuffs the takedown. Montpoisante throws a right hand that Panda ducks under and follows up with a left that Panda also avoids with ease. Montpoisante throws a right and a left that Panda avoids nicely. Panda has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Montpoisante throws a series of punches but Panda moves out of range. Montpoisante misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Montpoisante tries to bum rush Panda with a series of wild strikes but Panda uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Montpoisante throws a poor cross that misses
and Panda counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Panda is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Montpoisante is staying active underneath Panda, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Montpoisante is doing well to control the position and prevent Panda from advancing to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montpoisante is trying to control but Panda passes into side control!
Panda is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Montpoisante knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Montpoisante is trying to improve his position. Montpoisante is trying to get back to his feet. Panda is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Montpoisante is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Panda wants to control but Montpoisante is keeping him busy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Daniko Montpoisante dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Jab from Montpoisante. Montpoisante fails to land with a series of punches.
Panda drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Montpoisante defends it well. Montpoisante is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Panda can do to turn this around? Panda tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Montpoisante paws at him with a jab and circles away. Panda slips a jab and a cross from Montpoisante.
Daniko Montpoisante is winning the standup battle so far. Montpoisante lands with a kick to the temple. Panda shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Montpoisante throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Montpoisante misses with the combination.
Panda is looking to clinch but Montpoisante is avoiding it.
Panda takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Daniko Montpoisante is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Montpoisante throws a good cross that connects.
Panda is rocked! Panda goes for a double leg but Montpoisante avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Montpoisante continues to drive forward. Montpoisante tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Montpoisante is looking to clinch. Montpoisante throws a right hand that Panda ducks under and follows up with a left that Panda also avoids with ease. Panda fails with the takedown. Montpoisante was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Panda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Montpoisante swats him away and circles back towards the center. Montpoisante scores with a jab. Panda is still on wobbly legs! Can Montpoisante finish him? Montpoisante misses with a jab, cross combination.
Panda tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Panda is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Montpoisante just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Panda has gone limp and this one is over!
