The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gouveia takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Macropus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And Gouveia tries to counter it with a takedown but Macropus pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Macropus missing with a left hand there. Gouveia was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Macropus connects with a crisp jab.
Gouveia looks winded!
A big right from Macropus misses.
Gouveia feints the counter takedown.
Geryon Macropus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gouveia takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Macropus gets a clinch.
Gouveia takes an elbow to the forehead.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Macropus just misses with a elbow thrown towards Gouveia's brow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Macropus makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Macropus lands a body punch.
Macropus stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Macropus lands a vicious elbow to the side of Gouveia's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Macropus tries to finish him with strikes but Gouveia still seems able to defend himself so Macropus steps back and lets Gouveia get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Gouveia is rocked!

It looks like Pascal Gouveia has been cut.

Macropus closes the distance and pushes Gouveia back into the cage.
Gouveia is still on wobbly legs! Can Macropus finish him?
Macropus pushes Gouveia against the cage. Macropus is working some dirty boxing. Macropus pushes off with a quick right hook! Gouveia goes down! Gouveia tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Macropus moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
