Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Netti (ranked 1484 p4p, 1688 weight class) and Tatu Kurri (ranked 211 p4p, 231 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Netti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tatu Kurri! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Netti pushes Kurri up against the cage in a clinch. Kurri is looking for a takedown. Kurri is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Netti gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Netti breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Netti scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Netti decides to take the fight back to the feet. Netti closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kurri tries to roll over but Netti keeps him under control. Kurri is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Netti wants to stand up but Kurri has a hold of him and won't allow it. Netti definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Netti working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurri is trying to control but can't.
Kurri moves into full guard.
Netti throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Netti throws a big elbow that misses. Netti tries to stand but Kurri is controlling from the bottom. Netti in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Netti wants to control from the top but Kurri keeps moving. Kurri is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Netti is looking to work some ground and pound but Kurri has wrist control. Kurri looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kurri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Netti doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Netti manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kurri working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Netti.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Netti in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Netti stands up from guard. Let's bang! Netti moves in looking to clinch but Kurri pushes him off. And Kurri tries to counter it with a takedown but Netti pushes his down on his head and steps out. Netti looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kurri! Kurri is trying to improve his position. Netti in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Kurri parries the strikes from Netti easily there. Netti is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kurri to escape.
Netti working the ground and pound but Kurri is defending the strikes. Kurri is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kurri manages to get back to half guard. Kurri has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Netti is working away from the top position though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Netti decides to stand and escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Netti scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. An elbow from Netti crashes against the mat.
Kurri is looking for a sweep. Netti working away. Netti thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Netti creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kurri sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Netti misses with the ground and pound. Netti throwing strikes but Kurri manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Kurri in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Kurri has hold of Netti's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Netti tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kurri cranks the arm and Netti screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Netti, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tatu Kurri! Tatu Kurri decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
