Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brett Keane (ranked 2427 p4p, 2165 weight class) and Yves Marchant (ranked 247 p4p, 279 weight class). Marchant is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by gandagana. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brett Keane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yves Marchant! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marchant shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marchant showed some decent athleticism there. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Marchant in particular looking to stall. It looks like Marchant might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Marchant is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Keane doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Marchant. Keane pushes Marchant off looking to stand but Marchant dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Keane's coaches at Crapollas Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Keane won't allow Marchant to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Keane wants to get back to his feet. Keane scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Marchant manages to mount him!

Marchant content just to control the position here. Keane is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marchant controlling the pace for now. Marchant is trying to take his opponent's back.
Marchant takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Marchant looking for a guillotine from mount but Keane is having none of it. Marchant with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Keane's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Marchant is standing up, even though he is in mount. Keane paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Yves Marchant has been cut. Marchant closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Keane's guard. Marchant stops Keane from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marchant controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Keane wants to stand but Marchant is controlling the position. Marchant looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marchant stops Keane from standing up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Keane misses with an uppercut. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yves Marchant dominated that round. The cut man is working on Yves Marchant's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Keane throws a hook but Marchant avoids it easily. Marchant closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Keane's guard. Keane is looking to stand up but Marchant isn't so interested in that idea. Keane wants to get back to his feet but Marchant passes into half guard.

Marchant has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Marchant tries to stand but can't do so whilst Keane controls his leg. Marchant is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Marchant's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Keane feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Marchant sprawling to the canvas! Marchant rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Keane finish him?!
Marchant is rocked! Marchant gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Keane points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Marchant wakes up just in time to hear Keane thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brett Keane! In defeat, Yves Marchant stepped up to the mic, saying 'I will come back stronger.'.
