Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Shalashaska (ranked 341 p4p, 1387 weight class) and Daron Acemoglu (ranked 53 p4p, 208 weight class). Daron Acemoglu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Shalashaska! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daron Acemoglu! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shalashaska closes the distance and pushes Acemoglu back into the cage. Shalashaska misses with a hook from the clinch. Acemoglu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Acemoglu takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Acemoglu ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Shalashaska fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Acemoglu avoids the body shot from Shalashaska.

Acemoglu gets the takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shalashaska takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Shalashaska is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Acemoglu's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Acemoglu not landing any meaningful shots this time. Shalashaska has hold of Acemoglu's hands but Acemoglu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Shalashaska moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Shalashaska has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Acemoglu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Acemoglu throws an elbow that misses. Shalashaska uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Acemoglu's guard. Nice move by Shalashaska! Shalashaska is fighting to break Acemoglu's control of his arms but Acemoglu is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Shalashaska is looking to wear down Acemoglu with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Shalashaska lands a nice hook to Acemoglu's body. Acemoglu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. We've been told by Shalashaska's head coaches at Shut Up & Train! {$1000} that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Shalashaska avoids the body shot from Acemoglu.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Shalashaska can't keep his opponent in guard - Acemoglu advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Acemoglu trying to control the action but Shalashaska is working from the bottom. Shalashaska wants to control but Acemoglu is keeping busy and won't allow it. Shalashaska looking for submissions off his back. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shalashaska is looking for a triangle but Acemoglu pushes his legs off easily.

Acemoglu distracts Shalashaska with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Acemoglu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Acemoglu wants to control from the top but Shalashaska keeps moving. Shalashaska working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Acemoglu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Acemoglu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Acemoglu has his hands clasped together but Shalashaska extends and breaks Acemoglu's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Shalashaska.
