Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kaoru Nagashima (ranked 1126 p4p, 1878 weight class) and Ecce Homo (ranked 122 p4p, 204 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kaoru Nagashima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Ecce Homo!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Darius Henderson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Homo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nagashima jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Homo walks away with a smile on his face. Nagashima gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Homo misses with a body kick.
Nagashima shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Homo pinned against the cage. Homo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nagashima changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Homo tries to avoid it but Nagashima manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Homo to the ground. Homo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaoru Nagashima. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Homo connects with a body shot.
Homo lands a head kick. Nagashima smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Nagashima fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Homo avoids it really well and circles away.
Homo throws a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Homo moves into the clinch successfully.

Nagashima goes for a takedown attempt but Homo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ecce Homo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Homo gets a clinch.
Nagashima jumps guard but Homo stands there with Nagashima around his waist. Nagashima gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nagashima tries to pull guard but Homo forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Nagashima tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Homo smiles and moves away.
Nagashima shoots in for a double leg but Homo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

A head kick misses from Homo.
Nagashima is trying hard to land a takedown here. Homo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A nice side step and Homo releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Nagashima shoots in looking for a takedown but Homo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nagashima's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Homo tries to counter by closing the distance.

Homo pushes Nagashima up against the cage in a clinch.

Nagashima jumps guard.
Homo wants to pass the guard but Nagashima is keeping the position.

Nagashima has his foot on Homo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Homo works his way back into a safe position though.

Homo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nagashima seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Homo trying to control the position from guard on top but Nagashima is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Nagashima had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Homo defends it easily.
Homo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Homo wants to pass the guard but Nagashima is keeping the position.

Nagashima looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Homo has picked Nagashima up and slammed him! Nagashima can't keep hold of the triangle and Homo manages to pass to side control!

Nagashima throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Nagashima manages to get back to half guard.
Homo blocks the strikes from Nagashima.
Nagashima tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nagashima flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Nagashima manages to get to full guard.
Nagashima throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Homo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Homo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nagashima lands a decent punch to the body there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ecce Homo dominated that round.
That's time! Nagashima's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Nagashima dodges the punch combination from Homo.
Homo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nagashima. That did some damage!

Homo moves into the clinch.
Nagashima jumps guard but Homo stands there with Nagashima around his waist. Nagashima gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nagashima is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Homo has his hands clasped together but Nagashima extends and breaks Homo's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Nagashima.

A less than humble Kaoru Nagashima misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
