Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Beardsley (ranked 1040 p4p, 1308 weight class) and Ultima Kekkonen (ranked 141 p4p, 174 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Beardsley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ultima Kekkonen!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Beardsley.
Beardsley blocks the body kick.
Beardsley appears to be looking for a big counter.
Kekkonen throws the kick towards the body but Beardsley avoids it.
Kekkonen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kekkonen. Beardsley shrugs it off though.
A head kick misses from Kekkonen.

Beardsley closes the distance and pushes Kekkonen back into the cage.
Beardsley misses with a punch on the inside.

It looks like Ultima Kekkonen has been cut.
Kekkonen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Beardsley finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Beardsley lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Beardsley feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kekkonen sprawling to the canvas! Kekkonen rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Beardsley finish him?!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

It looked like Beardsley wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Kekkonen gets control of Beardsley's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kekkonen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beardsley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kekkonen's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kekkonen won't allow Beardsley to pass to mount.
Beardsley prevents Kekkonen from improving his position.
Kekkonen holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Beardsley passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kekkonen!
Beardsley forces the positional change into back control.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kekkonen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

That has opened up Ultima Kekkonen's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Beardsley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kekkonen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kekkonen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kekkonen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Beardsley haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Beardsley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Beardsley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Beardsley won't allow Kekkonen to sweep him here.

Beardsley controls Kekkonen momentarily but Kekkonen frees himself.

Beardsley isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kekkonen stacks Beardsley on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kekkonen!

You can see the frustration on Beardsley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
