Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Loquacious Smiff!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smiff shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Li's guard.
Smiff distracts Li with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Li avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Smiff pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Li is keeping the position for now.
Smiff is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Smiff trying to control but Li is working from the bottom.
Li will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee asks Smiff politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Smiff prefers to stall for the moment though.

Li is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Li knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smiff on the ground.

Smiff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Li keeps working.
Smiff advances nicely into full mount.

Li is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Smiff is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Li has managed to escape the submission attempt.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Loquacious Smiff dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Li clinches.
Li misses with a hook to the ribs.
Li comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Li gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Li misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Smiff blocks a body shot from Li.
Smiff prevents a body shot from Li.
Li really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smiff is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Li to keep the fight standing.

That has opened up Loquacious Smiff's cut even more.
Smiff avoids a wild elbow strike from Li.
Li doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Li goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Smiff is looking to take this one to the mat.
Brack Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Loquacious Smiff.

Smiff has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Smiff jumps into guard, dragging Li to the mat.
Li's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Li content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Smiff has locked up a guillotine! Smiff's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Li is holding on here and Smiff must be using up a lot of energy. Li has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Smiff gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
