Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Awekome Doji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, andy toole!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
toole closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Doji to the mat! Doji manages to get full guard.
Doji not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
toole looking to sit in guard and control but Doji gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Doji content to stall in guard here.
Doji slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
toole tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Doji wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Doji stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Doji swats away the attempt to clinch by toole.
toole lands a head kick that stumbles Doji and the fighters go to the mat.
Doji is rocked!
It looks like Awekome Doji has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Doji manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. toole manages to get himself to full guard.
Doji is working toole over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Doji wanted to stand there but toole had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
toole is working an open guard so Doji takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Doji could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Doji avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
toole tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Doji swivels and escapes.

Doji closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Doji lands in his opponent's guard.
toole keeping moving, preventing Doji from controlling successfully.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
toole throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Doji has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
toole looks gassed!
Doji feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Doji passes easily into side control. Nice work.
toole wants to control but Doji postures up.

toole is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
You can see the frustration on toole's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Doji is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. toole looks calm but he's in trouble here. Doji gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. toole is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Doji lets go of the hold and toole can pop his arm back in it's socket.
