Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Jones (ranked 2979 p4p, 3276 weight class) and Pierre Ragout Mendy (ranked 379 p4p, 409 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Darius Henderson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendy fails with a takedown attempt. Mendy scores with a body shot.
Mendy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a straight right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones. Mendy loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch. Mendy misses with a hook. Jones ducked under it nicely. Jones tries to counter by clinching up but Mendy breaks away and moves out of range. Mendy looks to throw a body kick and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mendy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Mendy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones. Mendy trying to control but Jones postures up.
Mendy wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones stops Mendy from getting back to his feet.
Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mendy's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones prevents Mendy from standing back up.
Jones throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jones landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mendy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones. We've been hearing that Jones has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Mendy looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendy is looking to improve his position.
Jones missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jones trying to control the action but Mendy is working from the bottom. Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Mendy is defending well.
Mendy is trying to get back to full guard. Jones thows a huge punch but Mendy dodges it nicely.
Jones is keen to just control but Mendy is a slippery customer. Jones is thwarting Mendy's attempts to control the position. Jones throwing shots but Mendy is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendy works his way to full guard. Good work. Mendy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones keeping moving, preventing Mendy from controlling successfully. Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position. Mendy throws a big elbow that misses. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mendy looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mendy. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mendy lands a couple of elbows. Mendy sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendy throwing strikes but missing. Mendy lands a couple of digs. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mendy trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mendy connects with a couple of short punches. Jones working a defensive guard here.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mendy working his ground and pound in the gym. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mendy is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alex Jones will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Mendy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Mendy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mendy throws a poor cross that misses
and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Mendy misses with a body punch
and Jones counters with a stiff right hand. Mendy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jones blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mendy. Jones throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendy wants to pass to mount but Jones is defending the position. Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mendy is working away from the top position though. Pierre Ragout Mendy has got the better of the ground game so far. Mendy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is in trouble now - Mendy has advanced to mount! Jones holds on to Mendy as tight as he can, avoiding damage. Mendy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Mendy has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jones's face.
Mendy cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mendy lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Jones is rocked! Jones is in a horrible position here. Mendy smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Oh Jones is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Mendy landing strikes from the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooooh, big shot lands for Mendy! Jones is hurt baaadly! Mendy is firing away with more strikes - Jones is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pierre Ragout Mendy! Pierre Ragout Mendy really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Altitude Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
