Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Irish Power!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Lusmu Kutvonen!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power cracks Kutvonen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kutvonen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Power.
Power was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Power throws out a loose jab but Kutvonen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Power lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Irish Power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Power paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
No luck for Kutvonen with that takedown attempt.
Power was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Power misses with a left hand
and Kutvonen counters with a straight right hand.
Power throws a lazy right hand but Kutvonen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kutvonen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Power fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kutvonen takes one to the chin there.
A telegraphed right hand from Power misses the target.

Power throws a leg kick but Kutvonen moved away.
Kutvonen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
A low kick from Power is predictable there
enabling Kutvonen to counter with a crisp jab.
Power looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nice defenses there by Kutvonen.
It seemed like Kutvonen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Power scores with a nice head shot.
Power throws a lazy uppercut
and Kutvonen counters with a nice leg kick.
Power misses with a straight right.
Kutvonen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Kutvonen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Power holds on and takes a little breather.
Kutvonen wants to control from the top but Power keeps moving.
Kutvonen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kutvonen's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Power is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kutvonen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kutvonen's back!

Kutvonen tries to escape the position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Kutvonen just trying to survive but Power is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Kutvonen breaks Power's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Power wants to get back to his feet but Kutvonen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kutvonen scoring with punches to the head and body.
Power preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kutvonen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Kutvonen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kutvonen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Irish Power will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Kutvonen misses with a takedown attempt - Power sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kutvonen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Power.
Kutvonen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Power drops Kutvonen with a beautiful combination! Kutvonen stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Power is looking for the KO!
Power tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kutvonen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kutvonen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Power's hands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Power ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kutvonen moves away.
Kutvonen blocks a jab.
Power misses with a hook.
Kutvonen throws a looping overhand right but Power ducks down to avoid it.

Power throws a hook to the side of Kutvonen's head but Kutvonen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Power gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Power is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kutvonen can do to turn this around?
Kutvonen misses with a punch on the inside.
Power is leaning against Kutvonen and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Power doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kutvonen throws a punch but it's blocked by Power.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kutvonen takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kutvonen has Power pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Power manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Power lands a body punch.
A left hand lands to the body for Power.
Kutvonen blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Power digs a right hand into Kutvonen's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kutvonen's gas tank.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Power just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kutvonen's brow.

Power scores with a jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Power throws a shot from downtown. Kutvonen moves away and avoids it.
Power lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Power throws a leg kick but Kutvonen sees it coming and moves out of range.
Power fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kutvonen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Power misses the jab.
Power tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kutvonen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
It seemed like Kutvonen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Kutvonen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Power.
Kutvonen slips a jab from Power.
Power throws a sloppy body shot
and Kutvonen counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Power is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Kutvonen's corner calls for a 1-2. Kutvonen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Power looks to land a left hand but Kutvonen moved out of range nicely.
Kutvonen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Power tries to work over Kutvonen's front leg with a kick but Kutvonen checks it.
Irish Power is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kutvonen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Kutvonen walks into a jab.
Kutvonen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kutvonen! But no joy.

Kutvonen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Power throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Power tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kutvonen was well out of range. Poor timing from Power.
Kutvonen appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Irish Power dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Power bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Power keeps Kutvonen at a distance using the push kick.
Power throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kutvonen manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kutvonen tries to score a body lock takedown but Power shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kutvonen goes for a double leg but Power avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Power continues to drive forward.

Kutvonen dives in for a single leg takedown but Power sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Power tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kutvonen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Power throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kutvonen takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Power throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kutvonen flicks out a counter leg kick but Power steps away.
Kutvonen works the jab nicely.
Kutvonen avoids a kick to the body.
Kutvonen looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kutvonen walks into a left hand.

Kutvonen is rocked!
Kutvonen has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Power steps in with a hook that catches Kutvonen right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Power follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Kutvonen looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Irish Power!
