Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Cool (ranked 4427 p4p, 4468 weight class) and Dave Drager (ranked 0 p4p, 392 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dave Drager!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cool moves in looking to clinch but Drager pushes him off.
Drager tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Drager avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Cool shoots for a takedown but Drager saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cool shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Drager pinned against the cage. Drager gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Cool fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Drager avoids it really well and circles away.
Drager changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

And Drager tries to counter it with a takedown but Cool pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cool shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Drager pinned against the cage. Drager gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Drager dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Cool tries to clinch up

so Drager counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Drager controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cool wants to improve his position but instead Drager has moved into half guard.
Well, if Drager is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Cool throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cool trying to hold on to Drager's head to control him but Drager postures up.

Drager is pressing down on Cool's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cool is holding on for now.
Cool wants to control but Drager passes into side.
Cool can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee asks Drager politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Drager prefers to stall for the moment though.
Cool manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Drager holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Drager keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Still in half guard, Cool seems content to control.
Cool trying to pass the guard but Drager defending well.
Cool seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Cool postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Drager to stand up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

And Drager tries to counter it with a takedown but Cool pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Cool is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cool stalling away here and it's allowed Drager to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Drager is adopting a defensive guard.

Cool wants to get up but he can't break Drager's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Drager's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kevin Cool will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Drager counters with a single leg into guard. Cool didn't expect that.
Cool wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Drager manages to pass to side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cool reaches up to try and control the position but Drager seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Cool rolls and tries to escape and now Drager has his back!
Drager has good solid back control here.
Drager gets his hands free as Cool looks to control.

Drager is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Drager has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Drager controlling well, preventing Cool from escaping the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cool just trying to survive but Drager is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Drager is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Drager is continuing to stall.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well Drager has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
