Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marty Moon (ranked 3893 p4p, 5270 weight class) and Von Killjoy (ranked 368 p4p, 425 weight class). Von Killjoy is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marty Moon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Von Killjoy!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Killjoy circles away.

Killjoy tries to sprawl but Moon drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Killjoy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Killjoy is looking to control Moon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Killjoy avoid being mounted?
Moon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Killjoy keeps working.

Moon wants to work for an arm triangle but Killjoy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Moon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Killjoy for as long as he can get away with.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Killjoy is looking to improve his position but Moon isn't that keen on the idea.
Moon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Killjoy is looking to escape.

Moon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Moon is trying to control. Killjoy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Moon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Killjoy tries to avoid it but Moon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Killjoy to the ground. Killjoy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Marty Moon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marty Moon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moon goes for a double leg but Killjoy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Killjoy continues to drive forward.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Killjoy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Moon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Moon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Killjoy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marty Moon will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Killjoy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Moon to the ground. Killjoy is now in Moon's guard.
Moon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Moon lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Moon postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Killjoy looks a forlorn figure.

Moon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Moon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Marty Moon tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
