Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Volko!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Volko enables Meier to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Volko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Volko looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Meier is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Meier drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Volko manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Meier has Volko in his guard.

Meier manages to break the clinch.
Meier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Meier changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Volko tries to avoid it but Meier manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Volko to the ground. Volko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Meier shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Volko napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Volko tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Meier looking to break Volko's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Volko remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Meier will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
