Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abdullah Zaire (ranked 3706 p4p, 4582 weight class) and Terry Tungsten (ranked 48 p4p, 63 weight class). Tungsten has chosen Cover of The Rolling Stone by Dr. Hook as his entrance music. Terry Tungsten will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abdullah Zaire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terry Tungsten!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Watson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaire looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tungsten is fending him off so far but Zaire persists. Nope, Tungsten circles away and we're back to standing.
No joy there for Tungsten, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zaire showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tungsten.
Zaire gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Abdullah Zaire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tungsten gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zaire to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zaire seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Zaire throws a big elbow that misses.
Zaire stays in close to Tungsten's body and controls the position.
Tungsten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zaire. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tungsten is looking to stand up but Zaire isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Zaire shoots in but no luck this time.
Zaire walks into a stiff left hand from Tungsten.
Zaire keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tungsten will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Zaire changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Tungsten swats away the attempt to clinch by Zaire.
A little jabbing left from Tungsten on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Tungsten moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Tungsten scores with a jab.
Tungsten connects with a right hand. Zaire shakes it off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tungsten throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zaire looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tungsten is fending him off so far but Zaire persists. Nope, Tungsten circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdullah Zaire. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zaire fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tungsten to the ground. Zaire is now in Tungsten's guard.
Zaire has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tungsten keeping moving, preventing Zaire from controlling successfully.
Tungsten wants to stand and escape but Zaire is having none of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tungsten can do anything to dispel that myth.

Zaire drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zaire jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tungsten wants to stand and escape but Zaire is having none of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Tungsten stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tungsten wants it to stay on the feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Zaire gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Tungsten.

Zaire fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tungsten to the ground. Zaire is now in Tungsten's guard.
Zaire is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Zaire working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Zaire pushes down on Tungsten's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Tungsten is kicking away at Zaire from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Zaire grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Tungsten trying to push Zaire off... Tungsten taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Abdullah Zaire!
A relieved looking Abdullah Zaire thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
