Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Thompson (ranked 864 p4p, 809 weight class) and Rav Kapur (ranked 113 p4p, 105 weight class). The key to victory for Ricky Thompson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Thompson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rav Kapur! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kapur tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thompson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kapur somewhat. Kapur throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thompson was covering up waiting for the punch and Kapur finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kapur trying to control the position from guard on top but Thompson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kapur thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kapur won't allow Thompson to sweep him here. Kapur sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Thompson's guard. Kapur seems to be looking for submissions.
Kapur is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thompson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kapur tries to free his leg and advance position but Thompson is retaining full guard. Thompson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kapur thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kapur won't allow Thompson to sweep him here. Thompson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Thompson looking for a sweep. Not yet Thompson, not yet. Kapur is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kapur is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kapur passes Thompson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thompson is trying to get back to full guard. Kapur is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thompson is just riding it out for now. Kapur eventually gives up the hold. Kapur is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Thompson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rav Kapur! An out of breath Rav Kapur thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
