PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Kattar (ranked 4372 p4p, 3029 weight class) and Magomed Kharimvotrik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Kattar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Magomed Kharimvotrik!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kattar defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kharimvotrik.
A little feinted left hand from Kattar on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Kharimvotrik throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kattar's waist but Kattar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kharimvotrik off to one side.

Kattar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kharimvotrik on his heels. He'll look to pass Kharimvotrik's guard now, I'm sure.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kharimvotrik is defended easily by Kattar.
Kattar appears to be looking for a big counter.
Kattar shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kharimvotrik eats them both and turns towards Kattar to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Kattar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kharimvotrik with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

You can see the frustration on Kharimvotrik's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
