The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom scores a takedown into full mount!
Boom looking to secure an arm triangle but Vantaggiato defends it well.
Boom pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Vantaggiato wants to control but Boom is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boom jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vantaggiato manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Vantaggiato sneaks back into half guard.
Boom is trying to work for a kimura but Vantaggiato is defending well.
Boom is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Vantaggiato trying to hold on to Boom's head to control him but Boom postures up.
Boom is working for a kimura but Vantaggiato is defending it quite comfortably.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vantaggiato is pressing down on Boom's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Boom drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vantaggiato looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vantaggiato looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vantaggiato!
Boom looks gassed!
Vantaggiato has hold of Boom's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Boom tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Vantaggiato cranks the arm and Boom screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Boom, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
