Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Flavio Ruas (ranked 23082 p4p, 5951 weight class) and Jonathan Davis (ranked 649 p4p, 609 weight class). Davis has chosen Korn - Freak On a Leash as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonathan Davis!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruas throws a head kick but Davis moves out of range.
Ruas connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Davis momentarily.
Ruas connects with a leg kick.
Ruas throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Davis sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Davis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ruas.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ruas scores with a shot to the side of Davis's head.
Davis is struggling to control the position.
Ruas lands a body punch in the clinch.
A right hand to the body from Davis.
Ruas makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Davis throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ruass head.
Davis has a couple of punches blocked by Ruas.
Davis stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Ruas definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Ruas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A cross from Ruas lands.

It looks like Jonathan Davis has been cut.

Ruas tries to keep at a distance but Davis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Davis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ruas's efforts to push away.
Davis stalls.
Ruas tries to break free but Davis pushes him back against the ropes.
Davis lands a left hand.
Ruas misses with a punch on the inside.
Davis misses with a hook from the clinch.
Davis blocking some punches.
Davis lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Ruas can't find room to land a body shot as Davis controls the action.

Davis lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Davis lands with a short shot to the head.

Ruas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Davis has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Davis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ruas swings for the body but Davis moves out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Ruas 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Ruas jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Davis shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Davis scores with a big combo that sends Ruas crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but the referee has seen enough as Ruas flops around uncontrollably and he's called an end to the fight! Davis jumps onto the ropes and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Gross.

Jonathan Davis was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
