Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Payne (ranked 5005 p4p, 2243 weight class) and Michael Scarn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Scarn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Payne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Scarn! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scarn throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Payne. Scarn lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Scarn scores with a crisp jab that stopped Payne in his tracks. Scarn throws a head kick but Payne moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Scarn. Those never looked like landing. Payne sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Jab, jab by Scarn - just one landing. Scarn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Scarn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Payne is trying to defend but Scarn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Scarn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Payne on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Payne tries to get out of the position. Scarn scoring with strikes to the body and head. Payne is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Payne is trying to maintain the position but Scarn is very close to passing his half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Scarn connects with a nice short shot to Payne's temple. Scarn scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Scarn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Scarn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Payne taking some punishment here, with Scarn in his half guard. Scarn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Scarn winds up and cracks Payne with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Payne is rocked! Scarn slips a nice elbow through Payne's hands, connecting with Payne's forehead. Oh Payne is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Scarn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Scarn is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scarn missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Scarn is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Payne is hurt! He's hurt bad - Scarn fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Payne from any more punishment! Congratulations to Scarn! Great finish!

Michael Scarn decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
