Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnny McBraddish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McBraddish comes to the ring accompanied by Broken by 12 Stones. Shamrock has chosen Biggie Smalls-Hypnotize as his entrance music. Johnny McBraddish has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny McBraddish!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shamrock lands in his opponent's guard.
Shamrock is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McBraddish keeping full guard, as Shamrock tries to pass.
McBraddish might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Shamrock advances position into side control!
Shamrock advances to full mount.

Shamrock is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, McBraddish has managed to escape the submission attempt.
McBraddish is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Shamrock sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
McBraddish is looking to improve his position but Shamrock isn't that keen on the idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shamrock dominating with strikes here.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Shamrock has hold of McBraddish's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McBraddish manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Shamrock has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shamrock pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Shamrock thowing shots but they're missing.
McBraddish wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Shamrock.
Shamrock thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
McBraddish is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Shamrock looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Shamrock goes for an armbar but he's not got it… McBraddish turns into him and now he's in Shamrock's guard.
Shamrock wants to sweep but no luck.
Shamrock throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Shamrock is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McBraddish won't allow Shamrock to sweep him here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shamrock is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Shamrock with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McBraddish to score with a decent uppercut.
Shamrock shoots in but no luck this time.
Shamrock looks gassed!
Shamrock throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McBraddish's waist but McBraddish gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shamrock off to one side.
Shamrock shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McBraddish pinned against the cage. McBraddish gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johnny McBraddish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Shamrock.
McBraddish scores with a jab. Shamrock acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Shamrock takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


Shamrock is rocked!
McBraddish fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Shamrock to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Shamrock looks to clinch but McBraddish throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Shamrock taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Johnny McBraddish!
Johnny McBraddish retains his bantamweight title!
