Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Hickock (ranked 2235 p4p, 2230 weight class) and Ray Turn (ranked 280 p4p, 278 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dick Hickock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ray Turn ! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turn shoots in and bounces Hickock off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Turn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Turn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hickock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Turn has managed to get both his arms back between Hickock's legs - danger averted. Hickock looking for a guillotine here but Turn defends easily.
Hickock will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Turn working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Turn slips nicely into half guard. Hickock keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turn wants to work for an arm triangle but Hickock is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turn looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Turn is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Turn lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turn prevents Hickock from improving his position. Turn wants to take a breather but Hickock is having none of it. Hickock actively working from the bottom here. Turn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Turn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hickock does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Turn seems to be looking for submissions.
Turn is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hickock actively working from the bottom here. Turn wants to control but Hickock is keeping him busy. Hickock knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Turn on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hickock is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Turn pulls his head out easily. Turn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Turn seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Hickock trying to control here.
Turn is trying to control. Hickock wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hickock wants to control but Turn is keeping busy and won't allow it. Turn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hickock defends it well. Turn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hickock on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hickock is staying active underneath Turn , who seems content to just control the action from this position. Turn keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Turn wants to pass to mount but Hickock is defending the position. Turn thows a huge punch but Hickock dodges it nicely.
Turn wants to take a breather but Hickock is having none of it. Turn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Turn frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Turn trying to control but Hickock is having none of it. Turn swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hickock is now in Turn 's guard. A big mistake from Turn there, giving up the dominant position! Turn keeping moving, preventing Hickock from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turn with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Hickock can't handle though.
Hickock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hickock is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Turn has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hickock is looking to defend but Turn has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hickock! Turn pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hickock taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ray Turn !
