Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brett Shoenfeld (ranked 69 p4p, 214 weight class) and Remi Chavaski (ranked 5 p4p, 14 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Shoenfeld! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Remi Chavaski! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chavaski takes the fight into the clinch. Chavaski tries to throw a body punch but Shoenfeld avoids it by throwing Chavaski back against the cage. Shoenfeld tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Shoenfeld changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Chavaski fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A jab lands there for Chavaski. Shoenfeld drives through with a takedown into guard. Shoenfeld trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chavaski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shoenfeld doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shoenfeld manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chavaski has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Chavaski controls Shoenfeld momentarily but Shoenfeld frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shoenfeld passes into half guard. Shoenfeld is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Chavaski is trying to control but can't.
Shoenfeld is keen to just control but Chavaski is a slippery customer. Chavaski is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Chavaski looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shoenfeld is trying to control. Chavaski wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Shoenfeld is looking to advance position but Chavaski won't allow it. Shoenfeld is looking for a kimura but Chavaski is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shoenfeld to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chavaski looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shoenfeld seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Shoenfeld closes the distance and clinches up with Chavaski, looking for a takedown. Shoenfeld pushes Chavaski against the cage but Chavaski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brett Shoenfeld. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chavaski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shoenfeld. Chavaski has a takedown stuffed. Chavaski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shoenfeld manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Shoenfeld shoots in for a takedown but Chavaski shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Chavaski misses with an uppercut
and Shoenfeld counters with a nice double leg into guard. Chavaski keeping moving, preventing Shoenfeld from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shoenfeld looking to pass the guard. Shoenfeld being controlled here momentarily. Chavaski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shoenfeld defends it easily. Shoenfeld content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Chavaski has locked up a guillotine! Chavaski's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Shoenfeld is holding on here and Chavaski must be using up a lot of energy. Shoenfeld has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Chavaski gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Remi Chavaski! Remi Chavaski is the new bantamweight champion! Remi Chavaski bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
