Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brett Shoenfeld (ranked 69 p4p, 214 weight class) and Remi Chavaski (ranked 5 p4p, 14 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chavaski takes the fight into the clinch.
Chavaski tries to throw a body punch but Shoenfeld avoids it by throwing Chavaski back against the cage.
Shoenfeld tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Shoenfeld changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Chavaski fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Chavaski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shoenfeld doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shoenfeld manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chavaski has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Shoenfeld is looking to advance position but Chavaski won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shoenfeld seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Shoenfeld closes the distance and clinches up with Chavaski, looking for a takedown. Shoenfeld pushes Chavaski against the cage but Chavaski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Chavaski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shoenfeld defends it easily.

Shoenfeld content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Chavaski has locked up a guillotine! Chavaski's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Shoenfeld is holding on here and Chavaski must be using up a lot of energy. Shoenfeld has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Chavaski gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
