PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Millard Masters (ranked 1056 p4p, 1321 weight class) and Dax Crumper (ranked 62 p4p, 81 weight class). Masters comes to the cage accompanied by Enter the Sandman. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Millard Masters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Dax Crumper!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Crumper.
Masters punishes Crumper's body with a nice straight punch.

Dax Crumper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Crumper drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Masters can't do much from the bottom here.
Masters tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Crumper wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Crumper wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Masters, who protects the arm well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crumper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Masters keeps working.

Masters tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Crumper lands a few punches from side control.
Masters is looking to regain half guard here but Crumper keeps moving and retains side control.

You can see the frustration on Masters's face as Crumper controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crumper wants to control for a moment but Masters uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Masters is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Crumper pulls his head out easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Masters controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Masters moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Crumper trying to control but Masters is working from the bottom.
Crumper postures up and lands a big shot to Masters's brow.
Masters looking for a sweep. Not yet Masters, not yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Crumper shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Crumper is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Masters is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Masters is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crumper trying to control the position from guard on top but Masters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Masters is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Crumper defends well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dax Crumper dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Masters throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Crumper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Masters as he jumps to the side.
It looked like Masters was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Crumper is staying active underneath Masters, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crumper looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Masters pushes past his half guard into mount!

Masters can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Crumper is looking to escape.
Crumper has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Crumper is looking to improve his position.
Masters trying to pass the guard but Crumper defending well.
Crumper is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Masters is keen to just control but Crumper is a slippery customer.
Crumper is looking for a sweep. Masters is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Crumper is defending against the submission attempts here by Masters.
Masters is trying to control the action in half guard but Crumper is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Masters is looking to advance position but Crumper won't allow it.
Masters perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Crumper tries to roll over but Masters keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Crumper.
Millard Masters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dax Crumper.

Masters is trying to get an arm triangle but Crumper is defending well.
Masters tries to advance to mount but Crumper denies him.

Masters moves into full mount!
Crumper tries to reverse the position but Masters maintains control.
Crumper is still trying to improve position.
Crumper sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Masters is trying to work for a kimura but Crumper is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Masters leaves Crumper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Crumper tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Masters defends well and Crumper ends up having to push Masters into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Masters scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Crumper doesn't seem bothered though.
Crumper takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Crumper takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Crumper throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Masters was covering up waiting for the punch and Crumper finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Masters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Crumper manages to get himself to full guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Masters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crumper swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Crumper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Masters doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Masters manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Masters controlling from the top position.

Crumper is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Masters forces his way into half guard.
Crumper won't allow Masters to pass to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crumper tries to roll over but Masters keeps him under control.
Crumper is not content to let Masters control the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Crumper shoots for a takedown but Masters saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Millard Masters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dax Crumper.
Nice takedown defense from Masters. No joy for Crumper on that attempt.
Millard Masters is winning the standup battle so far.
Crumper takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Masters stuffs the takedown attempt from Crumper. Crumper gets slowly back to his feet.
Masters stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Masters wants it to stay on the feet.

Masters shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Masters moves nicely into side control.

Masters is working to tighten his grip on Crumper's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Crumper has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Masters is really squeezing tight and eventually Crumper passes out! Masters breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Millard Masters!
Millard Masters got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
