Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Vunipola Veainu! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rav Kapur! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Veainu throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kapur changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Kapur misses with a takedown attempt - Veainu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kapur dives in for a single leg takedown but Veainu sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Kapur shoots and misses and Kapur takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Rav Kapur has been cut. Vunipola Veainu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rav Kapur. Kapur fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Veainu avoids it really well and circles away. Veainu lands a big uppercut and Kapur crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kapur looks OK. Veainu waves Kapur back to his feet! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kapur uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Veainu. Kapur with a lazy takedown attempt and Veainu counters with a right hand from hell and Kapur is out cold! A vicious knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vunipola Veainu! Vunipola Veainu retains his heavyweight title!
