Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ludwig Lachmann (ranked 1366 p4p, 1954 weight class) and Matthew Quigley (ranked 195 p4p, 268 weight class). Matthew Quigley has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ludwig Lachmann's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ludwig Lachmann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matthew Quigley! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Lachmann. Quigley does a little dance to reset his feet. We've been hearing reports that Lachmann has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Lachmann closes the distance and pushes Quigley back into the cage. Lachmann is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Quigley to keep the fight standing. Lachmann tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Quigley just stands there and leans against the cage. Lachmann is trying to pull guard but Quigley turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ludwig Lachmann. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lachmann jumps guard but Quigley turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Lachmann pulls Quigley into guard.
Quigley wants to stand but Lachmann has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Lachmann is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lachmann throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lachmann escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quigley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Quigley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lachmann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Quigley sitting in guard here, content to control. Quigley trying to control the position from guard on top but Lachmann is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Quigley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lachmann swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lachmann working for a triangle but Quigley defends it easily.
Lachmann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Quigley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Quigley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quigley wanted to stand there but Lachmann had control of the position. Lachmann is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Quigley rolls with it to try and escape but Lachmann cranks on the arm and Quigley is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
