PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wes Ekwall (ranked 3416 p4p, 2305 weight class) and Nate Noitez (ranked 110 p4p, 79 weight class). Ekwall comes to the cage accompanied by Enter the Sandman. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wes Ekwall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nate Noitez! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ekwall dodges the punch combination from Noitez.
Ekwall takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Ekwall fails with an attempt to clinch.
A little jabbing left from Noitez on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Noitez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ekwall moves away. Good exchange - Noitez coming out on top. Noitez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ekwall falls off balance throwing a combination
and Noitez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ekwall looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Ekwall misses with a double jab.
It seemed like Noitez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Ekwall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ekwall cracks Noitez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Ekwall misses with a body shot.
Ekwall takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Noitez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ekwall lands a jab to the nose. Ekwall with a jab. Noitez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ekwall was well out of range. Poor timing from Noitez. Noitez lands with an uppercut that bounces Ekwall off the cage and back into range. Ekwall with a jab.
It looks like Nate Noitez has been cut. Ekwall swinging wildly here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oooooh!!! Ekwall has knocked Noitez down with a huge combo! Ekwall steps away and waves a wobbly Noitez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Ekwall has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Jungle Room in the buildup to the fight. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ekwall, as that shot connected.
Ekwall connects with a superb combination that knocks Noitez out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Ekwall before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Noitez!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Wes Ekwall! An intense looking Wes Ekwall took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Look, he was a paper champ we all knew it. It just took a real man to put him on the mat for the count. Thank you for the light sparring. '.
