Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hughes (ranked 5785 p4p, 5406 weight class) and Jack Ryker (ranked 554 p4p, 536 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Ryker! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hughes sprawls well. Hughes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ryker gets slowly back to his feet. Hughes misses with a left hand and Ryker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The fighters circling - Hughes throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Ryker changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Hughes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ryker needs to keep his hands up - Hughes had a free shot at his head there. Ryker should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Hughes takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Ryker tries to clinch there but Hughes circles away.
Ryker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hughes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ryker lands a nice looking body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ryker but Ryker pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mark Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hughes misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice sprawl there from Hughes as Ryker shoots in. Mark Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Ryker.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hughes avoids it really well and circles away. Hughes gets a double leg takedown into Ryker's guard. Ryker looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hughes advances position into side control! Hughes misses with the ground and pound. Ryker stops Hughes from passing to mount. Hughes tries for a kimura but Ryker is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Ryker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hughes landing strikes. Ryker tries to bench press Hughes off him but Hughes keeps the position. Ryker struggling a bit here. Ryker tries to buck Hughes off but Hughes is having none of it. Hughes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ryker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Ryker is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hughes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Hughes looks up at the clock and then as Ryker takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hughes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hughes sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ryker is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hughes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ryker defending against the ground and pound. Hughes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ryker to see if he's OK. Hughes working the head with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryker is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hughes working the ground and pound but Ryker is defending the strikes. Hughes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hughes goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ryker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hughes but great work by Ryker. Hughes is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ryker has just dragged him back down to the mat. Hughes is looking for a sweep. Ryker decides to stand back up. Ryker steps back and let's Hughes get back to his feet. Hughes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ryker sneaks out the side door and pushes Hughes away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ryker takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Hughes tries to clinch up but Ryker circles away and keeps his distance. Hughes misses with a body shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Hughes dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ryker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hughes finds it's way round the side to connect with Ryker's head. Hughes looks to land a combination but Ryker avoids it well. Hughes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ryker can do to turn this around? Hughes throws a poor cross that misses
and Ryker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ryker. Ryker is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hughes pulls him back up using the underhooks. Hughes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ryker jumps guard and drags Hughes to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hughes drops back looking for a leg! Ryker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ryker manages to kick Hughes off! Hughes jumps back into Ryker's guard. Hughes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ryker's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Hughes landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ryker is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes is looking for a kimura but Ryker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hughes to get the leverage. Ryker regains full guard. Nicely done. Hughes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hughes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Hughes goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Ryker rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hughes's guard! Nice work there by Ryker! Hughes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ryker's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes advances position into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ryker is looking to regain half guard here but Hughes keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hughes wants to control but Ryker is keeping him busy. Hughes landing strikes. Hughes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ryker to see if he's OK. Ryker is looking to regain half guard here but Hughes keeps moving and retains side control. Hughes tries for a kimura but Ryker is defending well. That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryker content to stall in guard here. Hughes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hughes wants to get back to his feet but Ryker is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hughes throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ryker postures up in Hughes's guard and throws a big left but Hughes blocks it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ryker trying to control but Hughes is working from the bottom. Mark Hughes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Hughes dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Ryker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Hughes counter with a right hand. Hughes misses with a few strikes there.
Ryker gets a clinch. Ryker with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Ryker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hughes smiles and moves away.
Hughes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hughes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ryker fails with a takedown attempt. Mark Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Ryker. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ryker was well out of range. Poor timing from Hughes. A nice combination there by Hughes.
Ryker shoots and misses and Hughes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hughes throws out the jab. Ryker uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hughes. Ryker takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Ryker slips a jab and a cross from Hughes.
Ryker scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Hughes is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Hughes throws a right and a left that both miss. Ryker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hughes circles away. Ryker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ryker ducks right into an uppercut from Hughes. Hughes throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ryker feints the counter takedown. Hughes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ryker counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Ryker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hughes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hughes lunges at Ryker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ryker's hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryker takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ryker takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ryker takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ryker slips a jab and a cross from Hughes.
A slow jab from Hughes misses its intended target. Ryker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ryker prevents Hughes from breaking the clinch. Hughes is trying to force a seperation but Ryker has the dominant position. Hughes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ryker keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hughes's efforts to push away. Hughes has had enough of the clinch but Ryker keeps him there for the moment. Ryker stalls.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryker landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Ryker has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hughes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hughes is trying to push Ryker away but Ryker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Hughes tries for a takedown but Ryker manages to get underhooks.
Hughes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ryker has him pressed against the cage. Hughes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Mark Hughes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hughes is trying to break free. Ryker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hughes throws an off balance right hand
and Ryker counters with a head kick. Mark Hughes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ryker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hughes keeps the fight on the outside. Ryker is looking to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryker fails with a takedown attempt. Hughes lands a nice hook to Ryker's body. Ryker takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Hughes gets the takedown into side control. Ryker throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hughes misses with a two punch combination.
Hughes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hughes misses the shot to the body. Hughes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Ryker tries to clinch there but Hughes circles away.
Jack Ryker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! No joy there for Ryker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Hughes showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hughes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
