Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Micks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Tate's choice of entrance music: Sevendust -- Black. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Micks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ethan Tate! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Tate takes one to the side of the head.
Micks lands a nice looking body shot.
Micks misses with a few strikes there.
Micks tries to score with a low kick but Tate moves his leg out of the way. Tate showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Micks.
Micks avoids the body shot from Tate.
Micks throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

It looks like Ethan Tate has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Micks darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tate is rocked! Tate makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Tate is still on wobbly legs! Can Micks finish him? Tate attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Tate seems to have recovered his senses. Micks throws a series of punches but Tate avoids them all with ease. Micks closes the distance and clinches up with Tate, looking for a takedown. Micks pushes Tate against the cage but Tate circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Tate blocks a head kick by Micks.
Micks throws a front kick aimed at Tate's knee but Tate avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Micks to the mat! Micks manages to get full guard. Tate stopping the sweep attempt from Micks. Tate scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Tate working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Micks's head. Tate is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Micks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Micks wants to sweep here but Tate controlling him for the moment. Tate connects with a couple of short punches. Tate throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Micks is looking to stand up but Tate isn't so interested in that idea. Tate throws and elbow that misses. Micks uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tate's guard. Nice move by Micks! Micks stopping the sweep attempt from Tate. Micks avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Micks throws a big right hand that misses. Tate is looking for a triangle but Micks pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tate can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Micks controls the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Micks advances to half guard. Tate is trying to control but can't.
Tate looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tate looks gassed! Micks is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Tate has managed to free his arm - good work. Tate actively working from the bottom here. Micks is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Micks tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tate knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Tate gets back to full guard.
Tate can't keep his opponent in guard - Micks advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Tate avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Micks. Micks is looking for a kimura here.
Tate is trying to maintain the position but Micks is very close to passing his half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tate is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fred Micks dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ethan Tate's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Micks rushes Tate and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Tate turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Micks is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Micks sneaks back into half guard. Micks manages to get to full guard.
Tate is posturing up here but Micks has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Tate tries to roll out but it's too tight and Tate has to tap! Slick submission there by Micks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Fred Micks!
